Monster Giant Trevally Fishing: A March CharterRecap on the Great Barrier Reef

As we set our sights on the upcoming April charters on the Great Barrier Reef, it’s worthwhile reflecting
on the remarkable catches and experiences shared during our March charters to the Swain Reefs.
These were characterised by a recurring theme: the consistent presence of trophy-sized Giant Trevally
(GT). Each trip witnessed the capture of a magnificent GT. Let’s delve into the highlights of our March
fishing charters.

March unfolded with a commendable level of enthusiasm and a keen spirit for adventure from our guests
from the central coast of NSW. The trip was marked by significant catches, notably Scott’s impressive
Spanish Mackerel measuring 173cm and weighing 35kg, setting a personal best record. Another notable
catch was a 25kg Giant Trevally, adding to the excitement and showcasing the diverse species thriving in
these waters.

We had another charter that was nothing short of exceptional, with a week of favourable weather and
incredible fishing opportunities. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the capture of a massive 35kg
Giant Trevally off the back deck. Despite the winds picking up towards the end of the trip, our guests
departed with unforgettable memories of their time aboard Eastern Voyager.

From monumental Giant Trevally to memorable first-time catches, each trip showcased the thrill and
diversity of the Great Barrier Reef’s marine life. Looking forward, we invite new and returning guests to
charter with us on future adventures with us, promising unforgettable experiences amidst the beauty of
Australia’s iconic reef.

From the deck,
Ellen & Chris
