Eastern Voyager’s October Reef Fishing Recap

In October, Eastern Voyager was out at sea for another round of fishing charters, and it was a blast. On our first charter, a crew from NSW hit the jackpot with 177 fish on a day that had everyone in high spirits. Bruce and Bailey Watt led the charge, but the real star was Hayden Reeves, who reeled in not one but two heavyweights—a 10kg Cobia and a Jobfish. To add to the excitement, we even had an unexpected visitor, an orange-spotted emperor.

Moving on to our next charter, the crew from the central coast were treated to a fascinating airshow by flying fish at Saumarez Reef. James Abel made history with his first Red Emperor, and Neil Ross earned the title of ‘most catches.’ Jay’s Blue Spot Trout, an impressive 8kg catch, added a burst of colour to our collection.

Wrapping up our October charters, our friends from the central coast enjoyed a week of perfect weather and stunning sunsets. Tod’s encounter with a Spanish Mackerel and Paul Bevitt’s Chinaman (released) were impressive. And there was a surprise guest—an appearance by a Surf Parrot, making our fishing charter even more special.

No fancy gadgets or high-tech tales, just good old fishing fun, laughter, and a ton of unforgettable moments. Join us on board Eastern Voyager for your next fishing adventure, where great fishing and hearty laughs await.
