Tony Quaill
Eastern Voyager is now proudly owned by Tony Quaill. He purchased the Eastern Voyager off the previous owner operators Chris & Ellen who had been involved in long range passenger charter vessels out of Gladstone for over 28 years.
Tony is a keen angler and has a passion for both deep-sea charter fishing and sustaining a healthy eco-system at the same time. He appreciates what it means to be taken care of, and is proud to be able to ensure Chris and Ellen’s reputation for a high standard of service is maintained.
Daniel Palmer

Danny’s love of the sea started young. He began his career in the industry at just 17 years old, and many guests who have sailed with us over the years will remember him from his early days as a deckhand.
Over 35 years in the industry, Danny has quietly built a wealth of experience that few can match. He spent nine years as Skipper of the Tura and worked closely with previous owners Chris and Ellen for 25 years before taking the helm of the Eastern Voyager, where he has served as Master for the past 18 years. He has also been a proud part-owner of the vessel for 16 of those years.
His knowledge of the Swain Reefs, Coral Sea and Shoalwater Bay is second to none, and if you ask him, Shoalwater Bay holds a special place, particularly for its mud crabbing. Danny has also skippered charters and research trips across Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia, giving him a rare and thorough command of some of Australia’s most diverse marine environments.
Danny is not one to talk about himself, but his record speaks for itself. He is calm, capable and deeply committed to every guest and every voyage aboard the Eastern Voyager.
